Peter Aylett to front a practical acoustics seminar
Posted by Justin Bird • 23rd July, 2019 13:53Why the most important audio component is the room
The finest HiFi components in a poor room will sound mediocre, whilst good budget components in the right room can sound magnificent. Why is this? This session will introduce some basic acoustics concepts that explain why your room is the most important component in your system. We will be doing some demonstrations that show the effects of both room modes and SBIR (Speaker Boundary Interference Response) and discuss some simple methods for you to improve both your room, as well as how to model and predict the best position for your speakers and listening position.
Suitable for both beginners, as well as seasoned professionals looking for a different perspective on acoustics, this session will help explain some of the science behind reproducing the recorded arts.
