Along with Bristol, the National Audio Show is amongst the longest running shows of its kind in the UK: and having spent 7 years in London then 8 years in Northamptonshire it’s now ready for another advantageous relocation.
So we are off to Birmingham, a City that has never previously enjoyed a major event of this kind.
But more importantly this is an untapped and virgin territory.
This is not change for the sake of change, as there are and were other very important considerations: The amount of Hotels around the world that are accommodating for these types of shows is reducing, and add to that those that have the status, are suitable for purpose, can offer stability and the right customer services and this is now a major challenge for Organisers
Hence for 2017 we are using two linked Venues:
THE ICC and The HYATT REGENCY BIRMINGHAM
We will continue to preserve our established calendar date of the 3rd weekend in September: for 2017: the 16 – 17th September
Keeping to a set date is very important for two reasons: The industry knows when this show takes place and they have to consider other events around the world, plus and just as importantly ‘show goers’ also diarise this show at this time.
SO IN THESE TWO LINKED VENUES WE HAVE ENORMOUS SCOPE TO THE FUTURE
There is increasing demand for larger rooms/suites.
WITH THESE NEW FACILITIES THE NATIONAL AUDIO SHOW WILL BE RENAMED:
Initial discussions lead to THE NATIONAL AUDIO AND AV SHOW or similar.
So why not move to London we hear you say: for several reasons. After a huge amount of research it had proven very difficult to secure the right quality venue we needed at the right price and location that could also ensure sustainability. More importantly London is not a virgin territory having had numerous shows over the years, and previous events have not lived up to footfall expectation. Plus and as much as we all love our Capital, the growth and importance of City’s outside of London has become a major consideration and Birmingham certainly is up there with billions being spent to improve this City.
EXPECT some of the best transport links ever for a show of this kind with Birmingham New Street a stone’s throw from the venues, substantial local parking and two venues easily within reach of the local conurbation. Deals will be done with National Rail companies for combined travel/entrance ticketing as well. And yes if you looking for the unusual you could even arrive by canal boat!
EXPECT also major additions to how we package our shows and how we will treat each trading component of the industry.
EXPECT far greater status internationally.
EXPECT some very clever marketing, that will include TV deals, Sponsored Radio, Geo-Marketing, exploitation of our huge database and some brand new partnerships.
EXPECT the scope for a real package of entertainments including a state of the art Auditorium, live entertainment ( Munich style ) and weekend ticketing deals. And last but not least:
EXPECT as a bonus a directly passing weekly footfall of 75,000 peoples who use the ICC as a conduit from one part of the city to another!! In other words and as part of our plan to relocate this important show, the scope to increase the variety of Exhibitors and hence the increase in attendance that will go with that.
Here’s just a few USP’s behind our choice of venue and location
