Onkk is proud to launch its flagship product Q- Slotless Direct Drive Vinyl Reproduction Machine at The London Audio Show 20-21 April 2024.
Q-SSD sets new standards in analogue reproduction by reducing wow and flutter to unmeasurable levels, featuring switchable open/closed loop operation on the UI, recreating exactly what the musicians played and the recording engineer transcribed to those that truly covet purity of sound.
Q-SDD is a product based upon engineering research and development to represent the pinnacle of the genre.
Utilising state of the art motion control algorithms rather than those typically adopted which require sensing of the speed reducing before correction is applied, Q avoids these hindrances by incorporating complex mathematical computation. The software runs on proprietary motion control hardware to achieve previously unrealised insight into recordings on the vinyl medium.
Q-SDD features a fully ceramic Technox 2000 bearing, custom Aerotech Slotless direct drive motor and Renishaw rotary encoder and readhead, typically used by land based telescopes to track celestial objects.
The machine physically compromises of 4 aluminium castings for the plinth and power supply construction, which are then 5 axis machined by our engineering team based in Norfolk, UK.
The platter is a tour de force of uber precise calibration, turned to sub-micron tolerances, before being dynamically balanced to no more than 2g per millimetre. The total run out of the assembled component being less than 2 microns. The platter itself incorporates SDS technology to isolate vibration from reaching the critical stylus/groove interface, vital to gleaning every nuance of data the needle senses from the delicate format.
Proprietary damping techniques covert the minuscule residual internal vibration produced by the ultra low slotting torque of the motor fused with a system that converts the residual vibration to heat, passing the remaining noise to ground.
The audio equipment we use to demonstrate our products are hand picked to amplifier and reproduce the accuracy and neutrality of the machine itself.

The RRP is £50,000, however the first three machines ordered during the show will be half price.
