There is no doubt that the life of a show organiser can on occasions be a very isolated one, especially when the time comes to make changes; be that the choice of a venue, the dates, the location or the overall packaging of an event.
Sensibly, most organisers would make those changes gradually, and not all at the same time, but that could not be the case with the 4th New York Audio Show this year, because a complete new direction was essential due to the costs and logistical issues of trying to maintain a show in central New York.
This had to be a final change for the better, but more importantly enable this ‘prestigious’ event in the North American calendar to ‘at last’ settle down in a permanent home and have a real chance to grow.
And central to that decision was our desire to achieve a meaningful improvement of new to show visitors by ensuring greater accessibility from additional new catchment areas.
We would have been deluding ourselves if we’d said we were 100% confident it would work, theory and practice can be belligerent bedfellows; but we ‘were’ 100% confident that this is what we and the whole industry wanted.
We’re pleased, and delighted, that not only was a great atmosphere created in the shows new location, but in the end we ‘did’ get an extraordinary amount of new visitors and that is a tribute not only to our convictions, but our Visitors and Exhibitors who demonstrated such extraordinary belief and support that they also felt the same way as we did.
And now to endorse that . . here are the dates for next years New York Audio Show 2016: Same weekend, same great Hotel and location: 4 - 6 November.
We are already receiving very positive feedback together with room reservations, so now’s the time to join the team and the long term renaissance for a classic New York Audio Show.
