Defining the Gravity of Excellent Design
Posted by Diane Preece • 28th February, 2017 22:10Porsche Design and KEF have collaborated to develop the Gravity One Bluetooth speaker.
Designed by the renowned Studio F. A. Porsche in Zell am See, Austria, the Gravity One’s winged design is crafted from a single piece of aluminium, and features KEF’s signature Uni-Q drivers in a configuration that KEF says projects sound 360° around the room for total freedom of listening. Twin auxiliary bass radiators (ABRs), arranged in a force-cancelling array, augment the bass from the Uni-Q drivers. ‘Thanks to Qualcomm aptX Bluetooth audio support, the new Gravity One provides CD-like quality sound without wires, a dedicated microphone and controls for calls,’ says Simon Zanin of Advance Audio, which distributes KEF in Australia. ‘It also provides backup power for mobile devices, a 3.5mm auxiliary input for other devices and the built in battery means it can deliver up to 10-hours of play time before needing a re-charge, making it an ideal Bluetooth speaker.’ Available in Australia now, you can see the KEF Gravity One at this years Australian Hi Fi & AV Show.
