Alan Taffel of The Absolute Sound will moderate a discussion "Speakers With a Twist: A Designer's Panel." Hear directly from designers of unconventional speakers why they have taken a non-traditional path and why they think their approach is best.
The vast majority of speakers are boxes with multiple dynamic drivers. Yet an outspoken cadre of designers have opted to create models that, in one or several ways, bucks convention. In this panel, moderated by The Absolute Sound Senior Writer Alan Taffel, those designers will have a chance to describe their design choices -- which include horns, omnis, planars, and unique cabinet configurations -- and explain their rationale. Find out what these leading designers think is wrong with traditional speaker design and ask your own questions about their approaches.
