Muraudio Coming to The New York Audio Show this Sept 26-28
OTTAWA, ON, Sept 16, 2014 – Today, Canadian high performance loudspeaker manufacturer Muraudio announced that they will showcase the world’s first omni-directional electrostatic loudspeaker at the New York Audio Show. Muraudio executives will be on hand in the Robinson Room at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge to demonstrate the Domain Omni PX1. This revolutionary loudspeaker incorporates all-new patented high-output continuous curve electrostatic technology, precision engineered LF drivers, superior quality electrical components and stunning design to create a one of a kind loudspeaker that transforms the way you think about, and hear high-end audio.
The technologically advanced Domain Omni PX1 has recently been awarded “Best of Showâ€, “Best Sound†and “Most Significant Product Introduction†at T.H.E. Show Newport Beach 2014 by The Absolute Sound and “Best of Show†at Son and Image 2014 by Soundstage.com.
In the past, enjoying the truly life-like music reproduction of an electrostatic loudspeaker has been a solitary experience, reserved for a single listener centered between the speakers in the “sweet spot.†With Muraudio’s DomainOmni ESL, every listener in the room will hear every nuance of musical information, reproduced with the kind of precision, micro detail and three-dimensional life-like imaging that only an electrostatic loudspeaker can deliver.
The Domain Omni ESL is the result of over a decade of research and development by company founder Murray Harman, a successful engineer, entrepreneur and lifelong audiophile. “I have long been a fan of electrostatic speakers, specifically their low distortion, smooth, accurate frequency response and unmatched ability to reproduce the finest details,†said Mr. Harman. “At the same time I was frustrated by their limited output and high directivity and set out to produce an ESL that overcame those limitations.â€
Muraudio has pushed the envelope of ESL technology to new heights. The 360-degree array of Continuous Curve ESL panels employ 5,000 square cm of surface area to produce ultra-low distortion, high output sound. Listeners will be able to enjoy music at life-like volume without fatigue.
For a solid foundation of bass, the Domain Omni ESL uses three aluminum cone bass drivers mounted in a force-neutral tri-axial configuration in a sealed, cast aluminum enclosure. Massive magnets, Santoprene® surrounds, non-magnetic voice coils and superior fiber glass coil formers guarantee accurate, dynamic, high impact bass performance down to the lowest octave.
There are two Domain Omni ESL models - the fully passive, externally amplified PX1, and the fully active, self-powered PX1. Either model will allow listeners to enjoy high fidelity, immersive, natural sound with pinpoint imaging and seamless coherency.
The Domain Omni PX1 is purpose designed for operation with audiophile grade power amplifiers. The audio signal is separated into low and high frequency channels with a single precision passive crossover network utilizing the highest quality air-core inductors and polypropylene film capacitors. The PX1 can also be bi-amplified.
The Domain Omni DA1’s mid/high frequency ESL and LF drivers are independently and internally powered by two audiophile grade, ultra-low distortion Class D digital amplifiers. The DA1 operates directly from a DAC or pre-amplifier without the need for external power amplifiers, and accepts XLR balanced analog or AES digital input. A 24-bit Digital Signal Processor provides the Domain’s single fourth order crossover. Unlike other powered speakers that equalize and tweak the audio signal before amplifying and passing it along to numerous drivers, only the original recording is recreated on the Domain Omni DA1, with no DSP equalization.
The precision applied, hand polished eighteen layer finish is available in gloss Piano Black, Stellar White, Ferrari Red, Graphite, Scarlett, Sapphire and Sunset. Custom colours and pearl and metallic options are also offered. Suggested retail prices are $58,000 USD for the fully passive, externally amplified PX1 and $67,000 USD for the fully active, self-powered DA1.
