The Right Note Demonstration
Posted by Chester Group Humphrey • 11th August, 2014 13:29The Right Note room will feature the 300W, Vertex AQ HiRez Taga Balanced distribution blocks for source components, the Aneto ‘DC blocking’ mains conditioner, preventing buzz and core saturation and LeadingEdge’s Spline Diffusers panels.
The Vertex AQ HiRez Taga Balanced distribution block builds on the performance of the Taga distribution blocks as a hybrid step towards features of the high-end Aletheia balanced PSU’s. A custom-designed transformer, tightly wound to minimise vibration and with over-sized core and windings, supplies 300W to four balanced mains outputs for source components. Already offering ‘quietening’ from its energy- and RFI-absorbing modules, the balanced supplies in this HiRez Taga further lower noise in the power feeds (common mode noise rejection) to bring big improvements in musicality. Two further filtered direct feeds supply power amplifiers.
As in the HiRez Taga there is solid-silver wiring, a Jaya shunt filter module to absorb RF pollution, acoustic absorption modules to absorb vibration from equipment power supplies and all the EMI/RFI absorption technology found in the HiRez Taga, but with a second shunt filter and acoustic absorption module for the four balanced outputs. Estimated UK retail price is about £3,500.
Aneto is Vertex AQ’s ‘DC blocking’ mains conditioner module. The Aneto blocks DC on the mains from entering equipment transformers and prevents the all-too-common buzz and core saturation. Within the module is packed the DC blocking circuit and also a Jaya shunt filter circuit plus the usual Vertex acoustic absorption and RFI treatments that all combine to bring a significant improvement in performance.
The Aneto is an inline mains conditioner unit with an IEC inlet socket on a 220mm x 105mm x 45mm module with a captive output lead. It is supplied in three performance levels to match the other Vertex mains products – Standard, Silver and HiRez and priced at £600, £950 and £1,450 respectively.
The new Spline Diffusers from Vertex sister brand LeadingEdge are a major addition to the room acoustics treatment toolkit that includes the LeadingEdge acoustic panels. These 3D diffusers, based on ‘spline’ mathematics, are astonishingly effective at reducing splashy room reverberations. Available in black or white they come in either 0.6m x 0.6m panels or 1.23m x 1.23m panels, priced at £410.00 and £1136.00 respectively.
