Sound-Link ProAudio will be showing and demonstrating three pairs of ME-Geithain active loudspeakers - designed as studio monitors and in use by the BBC as well as being the industry standard broadcast monitors in Germany.
ME-Geithain are all co-axial loudspeakers which have an incredible stereo image and depth as your brain is not trying to re-assemble the sound from different drivers spread over the area of a baffle board.
They are very natural and revealing - a comment by a studio who tested virtually every top quality monitor loudspeaker on the market commented that a good loudspeaker should be like a window on the music - but some windows are cleaner than others - but with the ME-Geithains it was like taking down the wall and listening in the open air.
Uniquely - the “K-series” of loudspeakers have a cardioid characteristic in the bass end. Al other loudspeakers go omni-directional at bass frequencies and radiate as much bass to the rear as they do to the front - this means that the bess reflects from the wall behind the loudspeakers to cause additions and cancellations at various low frequencies, muddying the bass end. As the ME-Geithain loudspeakers are cardioid, they radiate virtually no bass out of the back, reducing reflections to a minimum and having a very much clearer bass end.
This is the very first time these have been shown at a hi-fi (consumer audio) show in the UK, and the very first time that they will be on active demonstration at any UK show.
