Welcome...
...to the wonderfully British and very idiosyncratic show that demonstrates each year that there is still a huge yearning for the unusual, offbeat, fiendishly expensive or just plain hard to find High End Audio equipment.
Largely made up and supported by the smaller manufacturers and Distributors this really is the show that you’ll be guaranteed to see new things, new ideas and people, and isn’t that just the best reason to go to a show?
Tweaky, eclectic, super friendly, down to earth, different, inspirational, motivating, unintimidating
. . all words that have been used to describe this uniquely British show.
The organisers go out of their way to attract new exhibitors each year but studiously avoiding the mass marketeers, and as its reputation grows from overseas as well.
Run uniquely as a non-profit making event costs to exhibitors are kept to the absolute minimum so that there is a maximum incentive to attend.
We look forward to seeing past customers and of course new faces without which, the show would not continue to prosper.

Only 500 will be available and to show visitors only...
Special announcement: The free (for visitors only) test CD “Bass Tones, Tastes, Textures and Transient Tests”
This will be available to visitors to the Stereonow Syndicate Room #1. This disc has 12 short (less than 60 seconds each) and rather special pieces played by one of the world’s leading electric bass session professionals. These pieces are variously played on 4, 5 and 6 string basses, some solid-bodied and others electro-acoustic. Some pieces with picks, others with just fingers.
According to Howard Popeck: "This unique CD is designed to very quickly highlight the differences in bass character and performance between varying speakers and systems. With a feeble system, all the tracks sound tonally pretty much the same. On a decent system not only do all the tracks clearly and immediately demonstrate differing textures and tones, but the harmonics ring pure and sweet and the decay (one specific track for this) is natural rather than studio-enhanced. The sympathetic vibrations (a natural phenomenon) of adjacent un-damped strings can be clearly heard – on superior systems, and
not at all on the mediocre ones!
As the quality of the system improves, the distinguishing aspects of each track are readily identifiable. As far as Chester Group know, no one has produced such a ‘tool’ before for show visitors – and certainly not free.
Once you’ve heard these tracks on the Harbeth/LFD/North Star system, then take it to any other exhibitor and ask them to play it. Once they’ve done so, some might well refuse to repeat the exercise. In which case you’ll be able to draw your own conclusions.
No bass pedals or effects were used. The recordings are uncompressed and un-equalised. Direct injection into the recording equipment. No post-performance fiddling whatsoever.
This isn't some shoddy cheap CDR. This is a tool to keep, with guidance notes and a proper CD case. The bass energy is enormous. Use with caution i.e at low volumes initially."
Only 500 will be available, and only to visitors to the show. We regret that there can be no exceptions to this and we cannot respond to request from non-attendees. Thank you.
Duo Mezzo
GT Audio will be demonstrating the incredible new Duo Mezzo Loudspeaker.
niche
2. a comfortable or suitable position in life or employment
Well we’d like to add to that dictionary meaning:
3. a comfortable, suitable or situation that deals uniquely with a specific interest
And that couldn’t better define the unique nature of the ‘Heathrow High Fidelity show 2008’
Since its launch back in 2003 this show has steadfastly kept to its original objective:
To make available products or services not readily available on the average High Street.
To provide access to high quality products.
As far as possible concentrate on Audio only
To search out the new and interesting
Well we think we’ve achieved that again and in this all too common mass merchandising world we live in isn’t nice to know that here’s something just for you and there is nowhere else you can get it.
THIS YEAR
Well once again we’ve filled the venue with exhibitors and kept it to what you want and all you want, lot’s of top class demos and no distractions. We’re pleased to say yet again we’ve rung the changes with some new names without losing the support of key exhibitors. More than enough to keep you busy all day with low cost parking, great access
( all on one floor
) and above all the unique High Fidelity flavour. Enjoy as they say.
We will be hosting some exciting competitions at the show...
