Music matters was founded in 1990 by Rod Ardern and Phil Parker.
Their first store was a small shop on the Hagley Road in Birmingham, which very quickly became one of Birmingham's top specialist hi-fi stores.
By 1992 it was time to expand the partnership and a second store was opened in Stourbridge at number 10 Lower High Street, which eventually proved to small and a move was made to 9 Market Street.
Early 1993 the store where Rod and Phil had worked together for the first time in Solihull (Alternative Audio) was added to the fast emerging group and by 1994 the Hagley Road store was moved into much larger premisses at 363 Hagley Road just yards away from the original store.
In 1997 Sutton Coldfield was added soon to be followed by branches in Hatch End (close to Harrow) and recently Darlington.
Phil and Rod believe in hands on approach to their business.
Each store has its own feel and personalities, and are all run by enthusiastic, audio, hi-fi and Home theatre specialists giving the customer an informed view to help their purchase.
The Lyngdorf room perfect system is set to become the new benchmark in domestic Hi-Fi reproduction, hear it along with amazing boundary bass reproduction system in our room. The best at the show!
